Olimpia Splendid’s new single Nicotinella from their upcoming album “2” is available today on 17th February 2023. The single features a bonus “b-side” track Salajumppaaja recorded in 2015 and is available today via Bandcamp, Spotify and other digital platforms.
Fonal Records and Kraak Records will co-release the long awaited second album by Olimpia Splendid titled “2” on 17th March 2023 on vinyl and digital platforms. The vinyl is now available for pre-orders from www.fonal.com.
Olimpia Splendid was formed in Helsinki in 2010 by visual artists Heta Bilaletdin, Jonna Karanka and Katri Sipiläinen. Their hypnotic music is a mix of weirdly tuned guitars, muddy drum machine loops, whispering vocals, and trash can delays. Since the beginning, Olimpia Splendid has been an active live band touring in Finland and Europe. The mysterious trio has kept busy since their self-titled debut album in 2015. They were featured in Ben Russells’ feature film “The Invisible Mountain” released in 2021 – a film about a roadie who follows the band Olimpia Splendid on a quest to find the fictional mountain. Jonna Karanka released her latest Kuupuu solo album “PLZ Tell Me” on Kraak Records in 2020 and was recently one of the producers of the Teosto award nominee album “Draama-Helmi kuistilla”. Heta Bilaletdin released her debut solo album “Nauhoi” on Fonal / Kraak Records in 2022. Finally we get to hear the trio’s new bewitched songs.
