Kuningas Yrjö K​+​(​y​)​=​ZzZz

Turku’s own royal bubble boy returns on August 4th. Oh yeah!

The 2016 album “Mustelma myrskyn silmässä” finally gets a sequel as Kunigas Yrjö’s new album “K+(y)=ZzZz” is released in July. The digital release is handled by the record label Äänetön, and the CD edition is published by Sipsin Seedeet.

King Yrjö is the solo project of Yrjö Saarinen, known for his work in Tv-Resistori. The project continues to combine lo-fi indie with out-of-tune synthesizers, creating stories about small lives in bigger worlds.

This album started after Tv-Resistori’s 2018 gig called “Ilmiö” when the old synthesizers were unearthed and no one bothered to put them back in storage. Once the oscillators warmed up and the bass strings conveniently broke, new stories began to take shape about gazing at the sea, lost souls in summer nights, youth skiing competitions, and stony hearts.

These songs from the years 2017 to 2023 are all the production of Martinmäki’s monarch himself, guaranteeing a full dose of Yrjö from start to finish. Enjoy!
